I listened to a portion of the Today Prog on this subject this morning. There was one professional comment. Along the lines of;"Striking people off is an admission of failure on the doctor's part." Such comments are easy to come by, less easy to see in operation.
I had one of these entirely one sided run-ins with my local GP some years ago and I was heartened to hear this morning that the process is not quite one-sided after all.
Doubtless there are good and bad;GPs and patients.
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Some receptionists are very friendly and helpful while others are the complete opposite. I can just imagine how the unhelpful ones might get some patients back up especially if the patient is not feeling well.
According to the doctor on BBC Breakfast this morning. Some of those seemingly struck off for no reason did not reply to a letter asking 'do you still want to be with this doctor' as they had not visited the doctor for a very long time, so it was assumed the patient had moved.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

they do differ remarkably from surgery to surgery.
i have been with the high street surgery for 9 years and very single receptionist has always been friendly and helpful.
the quacks are pretty good too.
i have known some dire doctors and receptionists in the past.
