  GPs contracts
  
  
  I understand the GP is like a god to some
  
  But the facts are the contracts they have now, do not work
  
  Labour doubled there wages to £110'000 a year, and let them have the option of having evenings and weekends off
  
  The job of being a doctor is not a 9 to 5 job
  Same as police and fire service
  
  The contracts at the moment gives GPs an incentive not to send people to hospital, this amounts to £162 million a year.
  
  PS.
  Labour doubled the council tax to,
  be carful what you vote for.

  i can only comment on my one who is worth that sort of money in my view, cannot say the same of many i have had in the past.

  I am not condemning GPs Howard, just the no working of evenings and weekend like the old doctors did
  
  And the policy of rewarding GPs with cash not to send people to hospital
  
  Some GPs who love money may be influents' to make the wrong call .

  i don't doubt there are a lot of money grubbing ones keith but good ones are worth their weight in gold.
  
  incidentally on the subject of hospitals my g.p has rung me twice to see if i have got an appointment with a neurologist.

  Daughter Briony is doing her GP practise at the moment & she works from 8 am through to 6 pm with no lunch break on some days. She has finished even later sometimes. Mostly seeing patients in the surgery but sometimes on house calls. On one house call recently she accompanied a senior lady GP to a 90 yr old lady. She shewed them away with her walking stick saying she wanted to see a man doctor
