    Please forgive my ignorance when it comes to initials but I also had no idea what "what a DM type ranter" was.

    I automatically thought Daily Mirror or Daily Mail reader, neither rag has been read in this household for a very long time, as for the DM boots I could never understand why those great clomping things were so popular.
