We travelled to the East coast of the island yesterday to attend the Gorey Charity Fete. Food stalls, beer tents and craft stalls and kiddies fair etc. The weather was warm and the crowds coming and going all day were unbelievable.A good day was had by all. Just a bit of fun non racist news amid the doom and gloom.
Approaching the fete with Gorey Fort in the background which was subject to a ''Time Team'' programme earlier this year.
Natascha grimacing in front of one of the road side floral displays. Each parish on the island is judged annually by an international team of horticulturists as to its flower displays. So whole communities work together to keep the road sides in bloom, flower beds fertile, hanging baskets etc awash with colour. A great idea which costs the states nothing bar a bit of free publicity.
A tractor trip to the Oyster beds.
