That is a completely absurd article. Half baked to say the least.
The 'prudence' issue alone is a proven myth. Is it prudent to build up a deficit during a growth phase as if you really had 'banned boom and bust'? Hardly.
These journalists will next be saying that people who spend £4000 a month year after year on credit cards while earning £3000 a month are being prudent. It is exactly what that fool Brown did.
