  BarryW so far youve called the Prime Minister of our glorious nation in this one thread alone a liar a cheat and an idiot. That smacks of very serious desperation on the part of the Conservatives who have once again disappeared completely off the radar in recent weeks. Brown is clearly none of the aforementioned, neither an idiot nor a liar nor a cheat, and I think even most of his political rivals would agree with that one. He is still a well respected figure striding the world stage in recent weeks trying to do his best to counteract this very nasty global recession. Not saying he is perfection itself by any means and Im not saying he will win the next election as the tide is turning away from him, but he is still an earnest politician and decent all round egg.
  
  You very often say we are in the worst position of all to fight the recession but have you seen the latest extra and extreme budget in Ireland only the other day. They have been hammered even worse than the UK. So we are not the worst...I doubt we are the worst by a long way.
