  Town Council vacancies were announced at the time in the press and by notice board, the required number of signatures were not received by the council to trigger an election as required by electoral law so co option was instigated has it had been done for many previous sitting councillors including myself
  
  I don't believe any councillor had faced an election until the 'Indies' were formed and there were many major casualties who fell to them, the little rascals.
