    Well, in the nicest possible way, no. It is quite impossible to have 'less' Politics, there could be fewer politics threads, and this is not just a quaint point to make, fewer in number and a smaller percentage of the threads here.
    The point has to be that the percentage of such threads; posts or thread visits they attract, is merely what the more verbose of us wish to do.
    There is scope for far more local, and more locally-pertinent threads to appear. Alas, the answer to why this is not the case is in the very hands of those who wish it were so.

    It is probably more complicated than this. In that those here who are devoted to history have other online avenues to expose their endeavours. It may be that one visit to such a thread here takes the visitor off exploring their other sites and from there, other sites and so on.
    Two final points...
    Is there no feedback from the residents as you each go about your daily business?
    Is it time for another get-together?
    P.S.
    I do agree that bickering is unwelcome. (I'm not sure whether I should be scourging my own back though.)
