Enjoy your retirement from the hurly-burly of local politics, now is the time to enjoy yourself.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Always a good idea to go out on a high with the DTIZ now just 6 months away from completion, work started on the new leisure centre and just today new investment in jobs at Whitfield announced so the District is looking in its best shape for many years.
I understand Paul will be 90 next birthday so best he enjoys himself while still young.

A very sad day for local politics .Decicated so many years to politics Now it's his time for his family .I worked with Paul for many many years he was a very good friend to me and always gave me a lot of support .He gave me a lot of guidance in what ever role I carried out .We could argue and some times disagreed but we had mutual respect .something sadly lacking in so many politicians

I know we have had our online tussles Paul, but I assure you it was no6thing personal and you have never hidden, always being prepared to explain policies and Council decisions.
I wish you well in your reirement. It cannot be easy job running a district like Dover.

Paul has vacated the throne as from today and the king makers are busy finding a successor. The word on the street is that a nautical cove from Deal backed by cinema goers there is the favourite to wear the crown.

Thanks to you ALL for your kind words & thoughts. The diary is virtually full for next two months without my wife thinking I can become a handyman [she'll regret it].

No real surprise here, I wonder if Paul took his stapler, hole punch and post it pads when he left.

About this time last year there was a fundraiser for Kelly Turner in our local community hall and two District councillors from outside the ward turned up and went in the stocks, Ben Glayzer and Keith Morris.
