  Good to see the end of the audit commission. extortionate rates, cornered market, and a waste of time !!
  
  It costs DDC £183,000 last year and I am sure a better market rate can be found....

  I attended an Audit Commission jolly last year - best hotel in Central London, fab presentations, expenses covered. Biting the hand that fed me for a while, but I was never quite clear exactly what it achieved.............

  I thought that was the whole idea of a jolly. A pleasing time pretending to be useful, that is why they never use the cheaper options.
