i thought it would be a nice change to talk about good service received by shops, cafes and the like in dover.
just to start things off, i would nominate greggs, all the staff are very friendly and welcoming without fail.
the other two town centre bakers are exemplary too.

yes bern , you said before how good they were to your mum.
not heard anything bad about them.
And it was all simple good manners, to be honest - a smile and some good manners. That's all it takes.

Capper and Sons, the butcher in Charlton Centre, the best for service also the friendliest butcher in Dover.
I agree 100% Morrisons are excellent.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Bern - how true your post#5 is.
If we all remembered that our lives would be so much happier. It doesn't take much to smile or say please and thank you but it means such a lot.
My nomination for this service goes to Pets Arcadia. The owner is always so helpful with advice and the ladies who work there are lovely.
BTW - can't stand Morrisons - will never go in there again, once was more than enough. Give me Tescos anyday!! Just my view mind

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

i done a few pics of sue's stall area back in the summer ernie, highlighting the good things that cruise passengers see on their walk into town.
the tables and chairs lay out is first class as evidenced by the custom she is getting.

Ernie
the qualities you highlight say it all. Good service isn't difficult but so many seem to get it so wrong nowadays.
I would add The Allotment to the good service list too. They are always welcoming and chatty in there without being overbearing.
I also agree that Morrisons provides a more pleasant shopping experience than many other supermarkets in the town.
For excellent service I would recommend Richard's taxi. He has been so helpful with my wheelchair and with a pleasant attitude, unlike I am afraid, some morose individuals who work for other companies who have made me feel a nuisance.
Which Taxi Firm is this?

Ok so they don't talk a lot but that is a more a language barrier. Hqoever, the staff there are full of smiles and are excellent value for money. The car wash by McDonalds at Whitfield. For you ladies on here you may wish to sit inside while they wash as the builders bums are rife, I would love to give them some belts! ;-)
