Truly, I stick up for our town when people put it down but it's fast becoming drunk and drug addict centre. You can't walk many feet without encountering one or the other of these groups who seem do have made their dealing places in St Edmonds Walk and the toilets behind Maison Dieu house. They must think that they are welcome because most of the police officers know their names and are friendly toward them. Troy looked almost dead when I saw him unconsious outside of M&S today. But they knew his name.
Why can't they have a building that they can all go in. Close the doors and leave them to their chosen path and keep them and their status dogs away from the people who want to use the town as a town should be used.
I expect criticism for my intolerance but, frankly, I don't care because I'm sick of it.

No criticism from me.
I have encountered such pally-ness myself, and when one is gee'd-up enough to call the rozzers there is little than can be less encouraging to have the police in convivial conversation with the miscreants before they have the presence of mind to knock the door of the 'complainant'.
It's enough to make a chap swear at a gate!

Penny, I doubt any of us would disagree.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

the problem is evident in most of our towns and cities, we are told by the police it is a lifestyle choice and there is nothing they can do about it.
we recently were told that the new district commander was gong to crackdown on such behaviour if it caused a nuisance, we shall have to wait and see.

We need a lot more intolerance Penny....
There is nothing wrong with not wanting to tolerate the intolerable

Penny
Which building do you propose we use?
Where will the money come from to pay for the use of the building?
Who will pay the staff of the building?
Oh yes there will be more questions to follow.

They did say the scheme had only been going for about a week and that shops were signing-up every day, yes some shops may yet have a stock of these 'refreshments' and others may rely on this trade (to put their children through school, say).
If only it were possible to can Hope as easily as hops.
