ooooooooooooooook. Just this once then: I have a faith, but that doesn't stop me asking questions and having pockets of ambiguity (they can be sewn into any suit if you ask the tailor nicely). Jesus, the fella who was the catalyst for Christianity (the clue is in the title) was a historical fact, although the myths and legends that were created despite him are less reliable. He was, given the more reliable writings about him, a real moral philosopher with insights and the ability or even the need to challenge politicians. This led to his death, without a doubt. The whole Son of God thing becomes more complex - I will simply say that his very refusal to accept that title gives it credibility, and actually confirms us all as Gods creation (and that includes the science bit - science and God are not mutually exclusive, quite the contrary) in a real and meaningful sense. I could go on, but I would just have rocks thrown at me!!!!! I would, though, encourgae anyone to read about Biblical times with an open mind and not with a religious view - fascinating and absorbing historically, and often leading to more questions!!
