THIS is a very deep subject one I have approached from a diffrent angle.
Like others on here I was dragged (sorry raised) through the catholic system, attending St Pauls primary(now closed) St Richards(formerly St ursula's all girls school) St Edmunds.
In that time the majority of teachers were nuns.
Taking aside recent findings of priests wrong doing with children, I can only say in my time in the schools i witnessed many things that would indicate to me that those nuns involved could not be christian.
The only replies in conversation I have ever had from leading lights of the church is that "well thats human error"
Well ok, but you have to see what that has done to many people, like me who have gone through this system.
Probably best example is my brother has now become a humanist, and strongly supports the humanists principles. Thats because of what he has seen.
I will not again go over all the terrible things I witnessed in the name of christianity?
For me, I hope there is a God out there that will at some point guide and look after me, I continue to have a belief.
But you can understand with these continued bad publicity on people we should be able to trust, for a lot of people it does become hard.
