Glyn Thomas
- 16 August 2012 11:23187404I see in the Dover Express this morning that Glyn Thomas died last week. Does anyone else remember him? He was senior orthopaedic surgeon for East Kent until he retired in 1991. He treated me after a serious car accident back in 1978 and without his care I would undoubtedly be dead or in a wheelchair now. Of course I'm only one of many he he must have helped over the years. He had parkinsons and cancer and there was also a piece in the Express a couple of weeks ago about a calendar he'd produced in aid of the Pilgrims Hospice.
- 16 August 2012 11:29187406Yes I do he looked after me for about two years when I came out of the army with T.B. in 1964 I was at the Sea Bathing Hos/Margate after he done the opertion he would come round to my bed each day of the week even on a Sunday,and he told me "Vic you will be here a very long time but you will get better and walk again.And That is what happen great Dr and avery nice person who will be missed by us all.
- 16 August 2012 11:58187409Yes he was a very nice man who did an awful lot of good in his life, so sad he ended up with parkinsons and cancer. I'm sure a lot of people will miss him.

Lincolnshire Born and Bred - 16 August 2012 14:00187412He put 18 inches of metal in my leg after me and my motorbike had an argument with a no parking sign (it's still there, great fun going through metal detectors!).
A year a so after that I was a passenger in a friend's VW van that ended up upside down in his front garden at Kearsney - had an interesting conversation with him about how my leg was progressing.
