I must admit to being a bit of touch with the music scene and was disappointed that "Freddy and the dreamers" were not headlining this year.
Watched a band called "Elbow", never heard of them but they were absolutely brilliant with a lead singer that could hold an audience in the style of Robbie Williams. The songs, musicians and backing singers/musicians were excellent also.
Well done the BBC for showing it, I might even buy a TV licence one day if they carry on like that.

Yes, Elbow are brilliant, although I had a short power cut at about 9.50
Arcade Fire tonight's headliners are also very good.
Not sure what you'll think about Metallica tomorrow

All a bit loud for me. As an escape from Glasto, tennis and football, and having the facilities, I shall watch the Centenary Concert from Sarajevo on Austrian tv. So there!

Metallica was dire. Sounded like a Chilli peppers tribute band with vestigial traces of prog rock and distinctly poorly written songs badly executed.
Bedroom rock at it's finest.

Great coverage from the mud bath on TV, really enjoyed most of it.

Did any of you catch the wonderful Tourmani and Sidiki Diabate? They are a father and son from africa who play traditional tribal instraments that look like an indian sitar, long neck, more strings then you can count, a huge round sound box and they are plucked like a harp. the sound was unlike anything I have heard before, light and gentle, twinkle and sparkle comes to mind! I only heard one tune, got up, put down my beer, went on amazon and bought the cd. Without the mix of music of Glastonbury I would never have discovered them, go on, give them a try!
