I always look in the various BBC channels each year to see what is going on, rather disappointed with what has been on offer so far. Motorhead are as boring as when they started out 40 years ago, Burt Bacharach was kidnapped from his care home and forced to play the piano and sing some of his songs that others recorded. The redeeming feature from me so far were a band called the Maccabees who were captivating and clearly talented. A lady called Paloma something or other had charisma but I don't think the songs were up to much.

Slaves were good, and weirdly from Tunbridge Wells,
Jungle were unexpectedly good last night. Hot Chip also always good.
This year's lineup is a bit weak.

Particularly bad this year. It's like listening to a live album of "Lift muzak - The hits collection".
As usual the BBC coverage makes it indistinguishable from watching Blue Peter with background music.
One edgy presenter even had to apologise to those of a gullible disposition for Lemmy smoking a cigarette during an interview.
Whiskey, tango, hotel?

Look out for The Strypes who play sometime tomorrow. They are a great live band.

Wasn't particularly impressed with Kanya sing in tune please.
In fact he was diabolical.
Shout out to his backing singer, however, Professor Stephen Hawking who, it appears, made it after all.

I see that Lionel Ritchie had a set today, not a fan of his but I can't see why so many seasoned artists take centre stage when there must be up and coming bands that would benefit from the experience and exposure. Roll on the Dover Music Festival in 3 weeks.

There will have been lots of less well known bands at Glastonbury over the weekend. The really good thing about festivals from Dover Music Festival to Glastonbury is that you get to see a good range of bands and often discover new favourites you were previously unaware of. Also some bands seem bland on the radio but are sensational live!
