  Yes it would certainly bring some jobs to a shipyard or two at a particularly difficult time for them and that is not to be sniffed at. But more important we also need to remember that this would be more than just a Royal Yacht for the use of HMQ.
  
  It would be a floating sales exhibition that can be used to promote British business and we need to penetrate new markets given the Eurozone sickness. Low growth in the Eurozone can be expected for well over a decade at least.... Then once we are free of the EU, even better. Such a Royal Yacht would certainly more than pay for itself so it certainly has a lot going for it and the best time to find the cash to invest in new promotional initiatives is when in the depths of a recession.... You can get a bargain price to build it and then be well positioned to exploit the recovery when it happens capturing market share.
