  Phil.you are right but there are other good ways to put your own points over like geting up at meetings or writing a letter the the press,but with a petition all they do is open it look at it and bin it.now lets say you had 1000 members of the public sigh the petition then all of them follow it up with aletter from each one of them to. and lets just say it is to the council and they get there one morning and on the floor is 1000 letters all in their own handwriting and the council have to write back to each one of them,then you are on to a winner.
