  Thanks Vic, getting old does have its compensations, there were lots of knees in the ward as well as new hips, and they got people up very quickly and mobile. Wonderful nurses - two Irish ones, man and a woman (not related but they grew up together), and they were exceptional, in their care. There were a few entertaining moments with new patients coming in who gave instructions to the nurses, like army sergeants !! and told the nurses 'I told you so' !!
  
  Best night's rest yet, so better each day ! our son was down for a week and very helpful to us, we are very lucky.
