  Whilst I am a europhile I recognise that
  
  a) the underpinning ideaology for the euro was always greater economic integration
  
  b) in order to achieve a) greater political integration is required
  
  Without both of the above the euro is doomed to failure as the economic gap between core and periphery and between east and west is too great to paper over for long, particularly in the bad times.
  
  The reality of the German bail out of the euro will be greater economic power and power/veto over economic policy for the Germans, if it was us we would demand and expect the same.
  
  The ONLY way for the eurozone to stabilise and take its place as a major reserve currency is the creation of United States of Europe with fiscal, monetary and economic policy controlled centrally
