Depending on who you believe but the roughly accepted figure George Osborne raised was calculated at £7billion. However it is a mere drop in the bucket in relation to whats outstanding.Once again this figure varies and all down to who you beleive...but gawd knows! but the overall shortfall seems to be calculated at £80billion and Ive even seen £170billion mentioned. So lots of figures being bandied about in scattergun style.

But following along from George...the figure is so far short of our deficit that clearly there are income tax burdens coming along like a wolf in sheeps clothing. Too harsh to mention at a Conservative Conference as it might get the wrong headlines. The message at the Conference was...austerity! but perhaps too much autserity might put the voter off, a little bit of austerity shows up well in the opinion polls. It comes across as good management.
