On the 23rd of February between 10am and midday a room at the Riverside is being set aside for those men who would not normally use the centre to meet and perhaps play chess etc and have a coffee with like minded chaps. Could Forum members mention this to friends and colleagues who may have reservations about coming to the centre.

You may have a problem getting that off the ground Ken I visit once a month to get my hearing aid serviced and as you know the vast majority of staff, volunteers and clientel are women. We have the "Wednesday club" at the local community centre intended for the over 50s and I have never yet seen a bloke go in, the fact is that women are more gregarious than men.

A good idea and I hope it succeeds, the trouble is if they are mobile men are more likely to gather in a pub or club.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.
