    Yes it does because our economy is much better managed than the EU's. The euro is the Deutschmark in all but name with fiscal and monetary policy being dictated by Germany. Weaker economies can't tolerate German policy disciplines so something has to give. In a sensible world weaker economies can raise interest rates and/or devalue their currencies to remain competitive but the PIGS countries can't so prolonged depression in those countries is inevitable.
