Country Brides of Faversham in Castle Street, Dover are running a competition from April 1st til the Royal Wedding in aid of the Royal British Legion which celebrates its 90th Anniversary this year. There will be a competition running in the shop window. Guess the style of Kate Middletons Wedding dress , as the Royal Wedding dress style will be a well guarded secret its an opportunity to take a guess and win some prizes.
There will be 5 different style wedding dresses in the shop window and people are invited to put a tick in a box with their name and telephone number with a donation of 50p to the Royal British Legion. Prizes include a Bottle of Champagne, a British Vintage Style Hamper from Gorgeous to Go, a Gift Voucher from KCs Beauty in Castle Street among other prizes.
Emeralds are the traditional gift for a 90th Anniversary and the team from EmeraldGowns.com have kindly donated a Emerald Necklace with matching necklace and earring set.
The Royal British Legion provides welfare to the whole Armed Forces family - serving, ex-Service and their dependants and this year they are celebrating their 90th Anniversary.
My reasons for doing all this ? My Father was in the Army and my Brother is now ( he is off on tour at the end of the month) as well as a long line of family members before them both, so it seemed a perfect time to help raise funds for everything that the Royal British Legion do, although we dont have a Dover branch any longer they still work in the community in and around Dover. I am looking forward to working with the Royal British Legion throughout the year, and raising funds for them and its a fun way to lead up to the Royal Wedding .
I expect to meet lots of your forumites who havent been down to see me yet, and fingers crossed shall raise lots of pennies! Expect more fundraising through the year, I like to do fun stuff!
What a great idea - good luck with this. You will have plenty of support, I know.

Thanks Bern, I am hoping so!
Please tell your mates, the Forum is normally the first for gossip and news, and I am just soo excited about this venture!
Are you creating a dedicated facebook page or twitter site? It is easy to "share" those online and might bring in a few more punters.
