I have answered your clarion call Howard for a picture of last nights full moon and here it is...
Well it was an eeerie night down on the seafront..shivering out into the darkness I went to bring you this picture, I battled ghouls and ghostly apparitions..and even an ould broomstick-borne witch or two beat me over the head, but..but ..hmmm okay I may have imagined the oul witch or two as there arent any of those in Dover!

Thanks for all your kind comments, now for the technical stuff. Nikon D200 body fitted with a Sigma 400mm lens which on this body gives an effective length of 600mm, tripod,1600 iso , exposure was around 125th/F8,spot-metered from the moon. When shooting the moon remember to keep shutter speeds high because the moon is moveing at1,000'smph!
I use both Nikon D200,s and 700's,plus Nikkor and Sigma optics from 10mm to 500mm,I still shoot film on several older Nikons, F4s, F100 and F801s, then there's my Nikon APS Slrs, severel film and digital high end compacts and have I mentioned I still use roll-film?
cheers!
Phil
P.S
Why not take a peak at my website, the link is below.

You should sell that photo as a poster, Phil. I would love to have one.

I thought you might like to see these, I took them several days ago, this evening light does not last for long but while it's there the effect is great.

More wonderful photos Phil. Nothing like a view of Dover Castle to lift the spirits, especially for those of us who don't get to spend as much time in Dover as we would like.
