  If you don't like what they are doing phone them up, write them a letter, e-mail them, ask them what they are doing with YOUR money and why. If nothing else it makes them feel wanted!

  You will find there are rarely hidden agendas and it's usually cock-up rather than conspiracy and most of them are actually well-meaning if occasionally deluded!
  
  Finally if you don't like the buggers - vote them out or even consider standing yourself.
