Hopefully Ronnie will make a full recovery.
1. INTRODUCTION
If a member fails to attend any Town Council meetings throughout a six-month consecutive
period from the date of their last attendance they cease to become a member of the Town
Council.
This is the case unless the failure was due to some reason approved by the Town Council
before the expiry of that period. Approval cannot be given retrospectively.
2. INFORMATION
Councillor Philpott has notified this Town Council that, due to illness, it may not be
possible to attend meetings for 6 months from the 8th February 2017. Given Councillor
Philpott’s health it is recommended that the Town Council authorises her absence in
accordance with Section 85(1) of the Local Government Act 1972 until six months from the
February Town Council meeting being the 8th August 2017.
3. DECISION
The Council is invited to authorise Councillor Philpott’s absence through ill health until six
months from the February Town Council meeting, being the 8th August 2017, in accordance

Ronnie was at a meeting I attended in the later half of last year.
She looked a very poorly lady, I do hope her health improves.
Ronnie Philpott is a delight, never minds having a chat, very down to earth.
Wish we had more like her.

I wish her well but if she is to ill to attend any meetings for 6 months should she still be a Councillor.
It will mean my ward will be down by one councillor, if the other existing two councillors manage to take on her work load successfully it also will show we do not need three.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

She has been very poorly over Christmas, hospital etc, has been making some good steps in the right direction more recently though.
Wishing her and her family well.

Jan this is not unusual providing the Councillors agree Ronnie will be given a six. Months leave of absence.Far better than turning up for say for five minutes and then going home.I have seen this happen in the past I covered the late Roger Frayne when he was ill
Im sure we would all wish Ronnie well and to come back fully refreshed .Public duty can take its toll and she worked very hard .
