Here's a picture from Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith's book "Ashford To Dover". It's Lord Warden Square of course. I remember getting the 95 bus back after visiting an aunt in Seven Star Street flats.
Anyone still around who bought a mug of tea perhaps?

interesting photo, not so many cars around in those days but that looks like a car park to the side of the building.

The seven star flats,I would take milk in there and as a lad papers,I was working as a lad for the star news paper a Mr Gibbs was the boss,his son is still about,last I heard of Mr Gibbs was that he was in a N/Home,His son had a cafe right opps/Town hall now the Allotment.Also there was a cafe like the one above at the bottom of Folkestone rd.

No Martin, that's the former Dover Town station building. The car park Howard refers to is the site of the platforms.
I'll scan and post a map shortly.

This is 1862, The flats were built after this and replaced the rabbit warren to the north of Beach Street.

It was good for a milk round down there,all the roads(Now gone " were flat no front gardens just rows of doors on to the path,great folk to,just paid up each week.

That was when Dover was a real town,and all the shops were full,there was law and order, You could walk into any job seven days aweek.
