Just received this in my inbox. Thrilled to learn that the Revenue have worked out my tax for me. According to my calculations I owe them three grand. I think I shall go out and celebrate.

these scams are so routine now surely nobody falls for them.
i must admit i have not heard back from that nigerian prince that i sent my life savings to 5 years ago though.

Another one that seems to be doing the rounds in various forms at the moment is an invitation to emigrate to Australia. A worrying feature on these appear to be an "unsubscribe" option at the bottom of the message - but of course clicking this could additionally lead to all sorts of problems. The only solution that remains is to block the sender and send them strait to the Junk Mail file.

Further to John's comment about not unsubscribing, it's probably best not to "press 9 to remove from our list" when you get one of those ppi or similar phone calls.
