  I love this story...the French riot police have threatened to go on strike if a proposed ban of drinking alcohol on duty goes through. The hard case baton battering bobbies are normally allowed a beer or 25ml of wine with meals served whilst on duty or attending riots. But this may soon stop as photos of the wine slurping coppers were circulated in the French press.

  having seen those pictures of a riot policeman in paris beating an african woman who was on the ground and trying to protect her baby i would think they have more than the odd beer on duty.

  We need some of them over here that would sort out our yobs. in stead we pussyfoot around and when they do get arrested there out in 5 mins with a fix penalty

  Can only agree Howard. Hardly yobbish to lie on the ground being beaten and trying to protect your baby..........
