The post you are reporting:
whilst we wait for the conservative spin from peter and barryw let me reply to you keithb
1; council workers like any other get sickness benefit, not sure why you just pick
on one section of the community, maybe look at the issue all over
2;although private health care given to any worker more so in the public sector
is wrong, it is a negotiated right, and im a firm believer in sticking to
agreements, maybe looking to a negotiated settlement.
3;im afraid your salary option is another negotiated settlement unlikelt to change
although paying out over £100,000 or even up to that figure is very
questionable that all parties have failed on
4; fully agree on not using outside agencies wherever possible
5; we would have to look more closely at who we send back and why
and any reprocusions., all parties recognise
6; bringing in a chop man sounds a good idea but unworkable in reality
and maybe even some are justified
7; not sure how you would cut the housing benefit bill, also the affects this would
have as you may well just pay in other ways
8; in defense of local councils the tenders do go out and any local company
can apply, but often don't, as much as possible local companies should be
encouraged, but in this public money needs to be looked at carefully and
not given to a company just because they may be local, they could be cra*
9; keith, you are not correct on the uk managed before, the jobs have always
been there uk citezins choosing not to take them because of poor pay
not whether or not this remains an issue is bigger than this thread
10; that may well be something, but surely training and updating training
isn't a bad thing, some training is good, some not so good a lot depends
on the trainer and those taking part, but lifes about learning,,,,,,
