  Had you been there John you would have seen that all the voting, by councillors of all parties and groupings, was done was done on each individuals own feelings. There was no bloc voting.
  
  Until such time as the awards are decided it would be unfair to name those nominated both to the council and to them. As a previous resolution was made that only two freemen should be awarded in any year there will be one left out of this years who, if nominated again, could well get the award next year. Far better to to celebrate the achievements of those awarded the status than to cause embaressment or upset by dwelling on who was left out.
