I bet her only 'shame and remorse' was getting caught she should have been locked up abusing her position like that.

Was the landlord aware where the cheques came from?
If so, he too should be in court.

well spotted alex and roger that passed me by on first read.
maybe because i was too shocked that someone had so cold heartedly siphoned off money meant for the vulnerable.
i'm sure such cases are rare but common enough to hit the headlines.
