The myths surrounding fracking are legion on the internet. Film of fire water coming out of peoples taps are hysterical nonsense and this was happening many years before fracking was invented. It is very common in areas where methane is present in the water table. Environmentalists have been using this to show the dangers of fracking where none exist.
As for chemicals being injected into the ground this is another myth. The main chemical pumped in is water and other chemicals in minute quantities are added in order to help the extraction. That water is then treated to make it safe before disposal.
As for tidal power it's virtually an impossible technology to develop and is only successful on a very small scale. Different tidal conditions make the technology extremely difficult to work so that in rough conditions they won't work and the same in calm waters. The damage they do to the marine ecosystem is immense.
Tidal technology is also extremely ugly and presents massive problems for shipping making any areas where there is this technology a no-go area for all shipping.
The infrastructure to link any tidal power to the grid is not only expensive but extremely disruptive.
It is also very, very expensive and would rely on even bigger subsidies than the useless wind farms, which also don't work, in order to get companies to invest in them. Expect bills to quadruple.
Did I mention how expensive it would be to maintain the machines?
Reg, I don't need tablets - just a little research and the headaches just fade away.
