  Thanks Alexander - there's more damage done when it looks like no one cares about it, which leads on to the "broken-window" syndrome, so more damage will be done when it looks uncared for, less so when it looks good.
  
  I do agree though that there is very little that can be done if people are determined to damage it.
  
  Keith S keeps saying that someone offered to have a CCTV fitted on their premises, but has never said who that was, other than it wasn't the late Roger Marples.
