It reads like a whinge to me Sarah.
You would say that Howard... have you ever run a business with an income that can fluctuate significantly and able to take for yourself only whatever is left (or part of it as next months cashflow concern is always there)? I do not try to claim to be hard up, far from it, but I have been through extremely tough times in the past and taken a lot of risks to get where I am after spending 22 years building a business. I get sick to death about people moaning about the level of their benefits and if that is callous then tough, so be it. They should be grateful for what they get, other countries are not so overly generous. Perhaps they should have made insurance provision when they were able to do so. That is not a dig at any particular person by the way, a more general comment of the appalling benefit culture we suffer from in the UK where people choose to fall back on taxpayers rather than provide for themselves.
