Bids for the three former Seafrance ferries (Rodin, Berlioz, Nord-Pas-De-Calais) have to be submitted by 1700 hours today (Friday, 4 May). P&O appear to have ruled themselves out, so it looks like a straight race between DFDS/LD Lines and Eurotunnel. I suspect the latter may cause problems for the competition authorities.

Thanks for that update Kevin. Will be very interesting to see what transpires. Fascinating that Eurotunnel are still in with a shout.

surely it has to be down to eurotunel to bid then as dfds and ld lines have all the vessels they need and have indicated no interest anyway.
will eurotunnel's bluff be called?

French press appear to be reporting that Eurotunnel, DFDS/LD Lines and Stena have submitted bids. One presumes that Stena are not returning to the English Channel, so the ships would not operate Dover/Calais.

Howard are not DFDS/LD ships leased? Easy to pick up presumably easy to terminate.
SeaFrance's ships are purpose built for this route.

only very recentl leased paul there must be a minimum term for it, maybe the leasing of the new ones is a bluff to bring the price down of the sea france vessels?
