It was not long ago I was talking to some ambulances crews in Margate, they are not happy about all this and I can understand why,They now have to get across to Ashford in their on time without pay adding over a hour to their working day, when they get there they have to park up and pay for that then walk to where their ambulance is and the same at night. Some have been driving ambulances for years and love the work they do,but if they had know then what they do now ,they would not have done it.They did not sigh on for all the ex unpay hours. even two said they would have to hand in their notice because of their family life and the ex cost of going to work is making it hard for them. Most of us when working had to tavel to work at our own cost, but we did know about that before taking that job they did not know and had no say in the matter.
I know what I am about to say is not the same but it is on the same lines, when my family moved their factorys from London to the Midlands, they wanted to keep the same staff,so to do that they paid all the cost of the workers to move up there they also help pay for them to set up home, and twenty years on the same workers are there today. My brother worked for the GPO in DOVER they asked him to move to a new job and they would pay for that move and help in seting up a new home.He done that about 3 times with the GPO picking up the bill.I think that the ambulances crews should have had some help as well.
