  the funny(or not) thing is that my road that leads onto that mayhem never ever has a bin or bag on the pavement at any time, despite the frontages being much smaller.
  
  could it be that it is because most people in my road are of a certain age and most have been born and brought up locally and show an interest in their surroundings?
  
  come collection day bins and bags are placed at the front gate(just inside) to await collection.
  
  if people in their eighties can get the hang of the system then surely the young have no excuse.
