In the summer of 1941 the RAF lost air superiority to the German Luftwaffe because their best fighter, the Spitfire MkV, was outmatched by the German's latest fighter, the FW190. In response the RAF had to quickly bring out a quick upgrade to the MkV, the Mk IX to regain control of the air.
This model is the heavily armed FW 190A-7 of which only about 700 were produced before the A-8 became operational. The aircraft is from 3./JG1 based in Germany in 1944 defending against US bombers. It is a Hasegawa 32 scale kit and has one of the most complex paint schemes I have done.
