the favourite spot i find is about 10 metres from steps to the heights in westbury crescent, i have sent photos previously to the council and they are normally quick to clear the mess up.
strangely enough the heights themselves have not been too adversely affected this year.

I can hardly believe the effort some people go to when illegally dumping. I reported one regular dumper locally to our PCSO, and along with the local council they put cameras up and caught him. Turned out he was doing it 'professionally', charging people to dispose of their waste and the fly tipping it. They confiscated his wagon there and then, and when it came to trial he got a large fine, in the thousands, and three months inside. I was very impressed by this, an excellent message sent to any potential fly tippers.

Agree Keith, hit them hard in the pocket with a large fine and then name and shame them. There is just no need for it, it is not hard to dispose of rubbish legally these days.

Rubbish still there, no sign of the council clearing it up, not a street cleaner in sight, why bother reporting these things if the council is going to do sweet FA about it?

OK I'll say sorry, two guys in a van have turned up and cleared the rubbish from the end of the road, still, it did take six days for them to get here and I think that that is still too long where food waste and sharps are concerned, still at least it's been done, thank you!

Or we could just re open the tips to vans
You pay £220 road tax on vans I think this should be considered when stopping van owners from using the tips .

This says it all:
Quote
"In 2004/05 there were over 33,000 incidents of fly-tipping and we take 50, 60, 70 people to court every year."
They think a prosecution rate of 1 in 500 is acceptable?

Can be very difficult to prove unfortunately, but most certainly prosecution should take place if there is enough evidence.

I understand that everyone now knows what day to put their rubbish out, so there is no excuse for putting it out so early.
Is that the Belgrave entrance of the upper alleyway Howard ? If you are abl;e to reply quite soon, I'll send the photos to Waste Services; I believe that they are now searching through waste to see if there's an address and then fine them.

Just a thought, maybe the rubbish was put out by people who will not be there on Friday if they have gone on holiday, houses and flats do not have enough space to store rubbish for a month never mind the possible smell.

it now transpires that flytipping has doubled since kcc started charging at the tips, costing 150 grand to clear up.

I thought this would happen - pretty obvious really. It would have been cheaper to let commercial waste in for free.
