The Govt has just announced it has given powers to local councils to on the spot fines for those caught fly tipping, Fly tipping is a big problem, and hopefully DDC will be part of this scheme as they have the powers.

The good news is that councils can actually seize and crush vehicles used in the fly tipping.

Why crush them? Selling them (if they are roadworthy) would bring in more money.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Similar to the situation where the authorities discover large quantities of cigarettes brought into the country illegally. I don't know if they still do it but they used to destroy them when really they could have put them up for auction bringing money to the public purse.

Someone has dumped a load of wood in a pedestrian alleyway behind Westbury Road. My guess is that someone has installed a new fence and just decided to dump the remains of the old one.
