Sadly, I saw a pile of rubbish dumped in Whitfield at the weekend, looked a like a builder or similar. Ridiculous when you think that the tip is just a half mile or so away, it makes you angry!

But they won't pay to use the tip since the costs shot up.

The price to tip commercial waste,if in a van or truck just keeps going up and up,it doesnt help matters,i,m not sure how much it is now but it must be getting on for £100 per ton plus vat.

Much higher Andy min is about £50 for up to a 1/3 of ton, a ton comes in over a £140 +vat at last count. Has become unnafordable for small contractors, I now a few who take theirs up in the car at weekend's, but certainly many more flytip it!

The high cost of getting rid of domestic rubbish that will not fit in the bins is enough to risk fly tipping for those who can not afford to pay, I am not saying it is right but it is understandable.
DDC charge the following for "table and four chairs is five items = £29.95", this is a lot if you are a low wage earner without a large car.

With all due respect if you can afford to buy "table and four chairs" why should other council tax payers pay the cost of you dumping your old one?
The same goes for commercial waste. Why should we be paying to process the results of your commercial activities?

If furniture is re-usable then why not donate it to Emmaus who will collect for free in Dover?

Really its all a problem,
I was recently contacted by a cllr in the ward wanting to do a clean up in the ward and wanting me to contribute towards it.
The problem here is, that having organised these clean ups myself over the years we had a lorry parked all day in an area for people to bring there rubbish to, lorry loads collected but the next day people dumped again in the same areas expecting someone else to move it.
So it is a dilemma really as to what is the best way forward.
Of course the restrictions on business's wlll result in dumping but every decision will create issues elsewhere.

Just suppose that you have not bought the table and chairs but been
given a set because you need them to replace your broken clapped out old set. The other council tax payers will still have to pay if you dump the old ones, therefore I think my argument is valid. People like the Captain and myself can buy new, many others on a low income are not so lucky and unfortunately have to take what they can get.
I agree about commercial waste as the cost of disposal is or should be included in the quote for the job so illegal dumping is simply down to greed.

It's even better than that. They are all now living in Sue's old garden shed on my allotment.

Average allotment price in Deal (we have three sites) is under £30 a year including water rates.
Cheap as (home grown) chips. Waitrose don't even do a half decent bottle of wine for that sort of money.
