There are currently 9 people in the Rest Centre in Sandwich. DDC teams and contractors continue to work through the night. Nadeem gave an update on BBC South East earlier tonight, and is giving another update on Radio Kent between 7.30am and 8am in the morning.

    Message issued at 02.23:
With peak tides having passed and sea levels falling, the Emergency Centre at Whitfield was stood down at 0230. Whilst there was some localised flooding in Dover, Sandwich and Walmer, there were no major incidents. There was a power outage affecting properties in Dover town. A skeleton team remained in place overnight to liaise with the rest centre in Sandwich.

Similar high tide events are predicted for Friday lunchtime and again on Saturday morning, and the Emergency Response Team will be meeting tomorrow morning to review arrangements for this period.
