  Most countries outside Europe now have duty-free shops on arrival. Carrying bottles of spirits in hand baggage on flights is just stupid. And if you fly to Dubai or Abu Dhabi (as I regularly do), it's SO MUCH CHEAPER!!! And you can take in 4 litres per person. Try getting that in an overhead locker with all the other kit and caboodle.

  I have never understood the logic of buying heavy glass bottles and taking them on a plane, much simpler to buy them at the destination airport.
