I watched this and thought "wow, they are amazing" - need to go to specsavers.....it's in Australia!

Stack them high (5 storeys? Works in Paris/Barcelona without tower blocks).
You then have enough people close enough to make shops, entertainment, transport etc viable and give them great public spaces.
Stop pandering to the idea of everyone having a garden with roses round the door as in some fantasy England which never actually existed.
Stop pandering to the idea of everyone owning a car (95%+ of time 'parked' somewhere- just look at Google Earth the amount of tarmac even in new estates) and their own lawn mower for their own tiny patch of grass.
