  Personally I see nothing particularly new in all this. R&D of new weapon platforms, and weapons themselves, has been going on since Man first picked up a rock to throw at his neighbour. Few inovations make it further than the back of a fag packet and those that do are kept so secret we're unlikely to hear about them until they're in use.
  
  Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) have been in use in one shape or another for years, on the ground, in the air and under water.
  
  And stealth technology is somewhat old hat too.
