  Yes at last our first meal for over a year out and in great settings a full English each, down the bay looking out at the ships etc in the sun, good table service .

  Yes it is my old home I had a cottage on the freedown many years ago and my family still own land etc out there we love the bay and the gardens (Pine) so lets hope we can get out there in the summer weeks ahead But walking at 0330 in the morning to Dover for work was no fun summer and when snow on the ground in the winter weeks

  Thank you sir ,I was not the only one but it was peace work only got paid with the amount you made I made manholes cover if they tuned out wrong you got no pay The D.E.W. was a hard place to work and casting up with very hot metal with out any gloves on no s/glass nothing then I walked back to the bay at night 5 miles sometimes I got a left home or some of the way,but at 0330 hrs the morning I did not see many on the roads, And my wife at that time would also walk could not get the pram on the bus.

  My meal out was Kellys snackbar on Coombe valley rd for an exellent bacon stick.

  Yes sir I do and my dad died there after that I had it to and left, and went on the railway ,must say I did not like working at the D.E.W. but was there 10 years my dad was a foreman there and he was there over 35 years and as a family when the D,E,W CLOSED in the war and moved to Watford the family went to. yes Sir I like my bacon to. all the best, to you both,
