    Yes Sydney make a big splash every year, presumably because they are first to celebrate being 8 or 10 hours ahead of us or whatever it is. The celebrations then move across the globe until they arrive here. The London ones were superb but probably way toooo expensive for these hard times..they went on for an age.

    Here in Dover there was a group of people on the beach letting some off which was nice, and there were several other displays around town. But..did my eyes deceive me...fireworks let off from the top of Burlington House!! I would need that confirmed, I saw it but I dont beleive it!

    I was very concerned that they might burn the place down !!

    The ships dont sound their hooters any more..ah shame that.
